Codonopsis nervosa is a PERENNIAL. The species is hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs) and is pollinated by Bees, wasps. Suitable for: light (sandy) and medium (loamy) soils and prefers well-drained soil. Suitable pH: mildly acid and neutral soils. It can grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade. It prefers moist soil.

Analgesic Antiinflammatory The flowers are used in Tibetan medicine and are said to have a sweet and astringent taste with a cooling potency[241]. They are analgesic and anti-inflammatory, being used in the treatment of pain and swollen joints due to arthritis/gout, stiffening of ureters and paralysis due to cerebral ischaemia[241].
