Erodium stephanianum is a ANNUAL growing to 0.6 m (2ft). The species is hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs) and is pollinated by Insects. Suitable for: light (sandy) and medium (loamy) soils and prefers well-drained soil. Suitable pH: neutral and basic (mildly alkaline) soils. It cannot grow in the shade. It prefers dry or moist soil.
Distribution

Antirheumatic Antiseptic Astringent Dysentery The aerial parts of the plant are antirheumatic, antiseptic and astringent[176]. They are used in the treatment of acute and chronic rheumatalgia, diarrhoea, dysentery and enteritis[176]. The plant has also shown antibacterial action against Staphylococcus aureus, streptococci, Pneumococci, Shigella flexneri etc[176]. A paste of the plant is applied externally in the treatment of gout[272].
