Pedicularis longiflora tubiformis is a ANNUAL growing to 0.2 m (0ft 8in). It is in flower from May to October, and the seeds ripen from June to October. The species is hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs). Suitable for: light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils. Suitable pH: mildly acid, neutral and basic (mildly alkaline) soils. It can grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade. It prefers moist soil.

Astringent Bitter Diuretic Febrifuge Skin The entire plant is used in Tibetan medicine, it is said to have a bitter and astringent taste with a cooling potency[241]. Diuretic and febrifuge, it also removes any excess accumulation of body fluids[241]. It is used in the treatment of inflammation of the liver or gall bladder, seminal/vaginal discharges, oedema and disorders associated with alcoholism[241]. A decoction of the plant is used as a wash for diseased skin[272].
